"The Zone" is a real place....

The same server at my sandwich shop who has been taking my order for close to a year now almost always offers me the same greeting, "Happy Thursday Girl", or "Happy Tuesday Girl", or "Happy fill in the blank Girl " and for over a year this seemingly personal greeting always made me feel special and appreciated. Until, for the first time I can recall, she greeted me, then also gave the gentleman behind me a "Happy Thursday". All I could think was, "She got me"....with great customer service.

Recently, I accepted a lunch date with a man who was a little older than myself, had way more life experience[kids], but gorgeous, had a great set of teeth, a career[!], a car, and some plans. Afterward, I thought "Wow, finally!", could I've met The One. A man who seemed intelligent, hard working, cooks, but who wanted to talk more about relationships than I. Then I thought about my sandwich shop; Nope, he had to be in "The Zone"[probably before we ever met each other] like my server. It felt like an eHarmony date[though I haven't been on one], I imagining it feeling the same way. He wanted to talk about everything we are taught to hold back on until "you've got him", not on the first date!! "When do you want to get married", "How many kids", "What's your philosophy on Love"; Who knew I'd be building my eHarmony profile over a wedge salad and cosmo.

As women, we are always talking about no good *%#($#)@#s, or the playboys who envision settling down somewhere closer to 40; guys who don't want a commitment [and probably can't spell it in most cases], these chumps, in my opinion, are working the system. But here I was, for the first time in my adult dating experience, a witness to the "The Zone"[horoscope said it was due to some current planetary alignment]. First requirement[and only one really], a capable, independent, woman, who is looking for marriage[what we're taught we've always wanted], and have read too many Steve Harvey Books; Check.
The undiscerning women, who have fed into to the, "there are no more good men, who want to settle down cause they have too many options" notion, will fall like dominoes to "The Zone" just like I fell prey to my sandwich shop server.  Men in "The Zone" are for women who are willing to settle for the end rather than the means, and is in no way proportionate to actual chemistry. Funny to think, that if I were also in "The Zone" I'd probably be on my way down someone's aisle in a few months...
...All this from a my visit to my deli...

#WOD DISENGAGED

DISENGAGED... It's more than a word. It's a lifestyle.
Live it,
Feel it,
LOVE it.

Who in your life is living this lifestyle, and what was the spark that started the revolution?

Long Time Old Friend....

{Humph}{Humph}

Seems like I am always having the same reoccurring conversation. "Lets start a blog, you should write about.......I want to write about travel, nightlife, relationships, foodddddddd...." etc. etc., and we {I} always get stuck on the peripheral details. Should it be on this platform or that? What's a good first topic? ...And the best way to never actually do something, is to create excuses. So in the spirit of Execution, I'm going to DO. So consider this doing.

I'm going to take a stab at offering some {hopefully} insightful and interesting discussions from religion to recipes.

Sooooo........ stay tunedddd ;-)

xoxo
